random crap no one will read

Christian cupped her face carefully between his hands. A single tear ran down Emma’s cheek, and he wiped it away swiftly with the tip of his thumb.

“I promise, I’ll never leave you.”  He whispered to her, knowing that was exactly what she was thinking. “I promise to stay by your side, as a friend or lover, whichever you will have, but I will never leave you.”

He pushed away some of the bangs that had fallen in front of her eyes. She sniffed and looked at him in the eyes, studying him, almost deciding right then and there if she trusted him. Yet, she had always trusted him. How could she not? He had been her long friend for years now.

She looked down and back up to him, “Can I correct your statement?” She whispered looking directly into his eyes, “Promise to stay by my side, as friend AND lover, and never leave.”

He looked at her and smiled. She was everything he had ever wanted. She was smart, funny, beautiful, and she completed him. She was his other half. He knew it from the first moment they met. When she stumbled over her own feet and right into his lap. She had a feather hanging in her hair and her blonde hair was streaked with pink. She had gotten up in a fluster, apologizing, and asking him if he were hurt. He could only nod and stare at her in awe. She had introduced herself that day and then quickly asked him to a cup of coffee to make up for her clumsiness. They had been friends ever since.

Christian looked at her and carefully moved to kiss her. Emma’s breath hitched as if she was afraid at what was about to happen. He carefully, still cupping her face, took her bottom lip in between his. Hesitantly, he kissed her softly. She didn’t respond. She didn’t move.

He pulled back and said. “I promise.”

A piece of writing…

Emma turned away quietly, “I guess, it was all for nothing,” she whispered. He stood there watching her turn away. A tear ran down her cheek very slowly.

“I understand, your point of view Daniel.Believe me, I get it. You are ashamed of me. You don’t want to bring me home. You are afraid of what your family and friends will think of me. The girl with nothing to her name. Nothing in her future. Nothing, but the love in her heart. I’m sorry I am not good enough for you, Daniel.” She watched as her breath misted in the cold night air. She walked away.

Daniel watched, not realizing that the reason she had nothing was she gave it all up to be with him.

31/366 A little thing called Love

Love is sometimes described as the grandest feeling. Yet I think that it is made up of the littlest things possible. Like the way I feel when I get that text. It just reminds me that I fleeted across your mind for one second. Another would be the way I feel when I say hello for the first time on Skype and you look at me and smile. You make me feel like I’m the most special girl in the world.  I honestly feel everything that was bothering me disappear when I’m talking to you. I said this morning that you have easily become an important part of my life because when I’m not talking to you, I’m dreaming about you, thinking about you, and wishing for you. I’ll worry on end and I know you get mad when I do, but it’s because I love you so much. I don’t want you to hurt and I want to take the hurt away. I want to take away anything that hurt you in your entire life. I want to heal any scars left on your heart. I know that I won’t be able to heal all things, but I want to at least mend. I want to bandage battle wounds. I want to nurse you back to life. I want to be yours and only yours. I want to be in a relationship with you. I want to live with you. I want to marry you. I want to have kids with you. I want to raise them together. I want to be the picture perfect family. I want to send them to high school and cry when they graduate. I want to watch you walk a daughter down the aisle or watch as we meet a daughter-in-law. I want to spoil grandchildren with you. I want to grow old with you. I want to love you more every day. I want our love to never falter either. I want it to be strong. I want to be there to hold you when you cry, when you are having the dark thoughts. I want you to be there when the blackness creeps in to my heart as well. I want you. I want to be with you. I love you. This is love. The little things pieced together to be the grandest of all feelings.

30/366 a little something for you

Emma felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around and there he was. The person she had been waiting to see for the last year. She looked up to him through her eyelashes and blushed. He looked down at her and said, “Hello, Emma.” It was the first thing she had ever heard him say to her in person. Her name came out of her lips and everything was still. She knew from that moment that this was right.

“Hello, Christian,” she whispered and smiled up at him. The crowd pressed upon them, but they were in another world. Without even a second thought, they each wrapped their arms around the other and hugged for the first time. She was safe there and this was her home. She wanted to spend the rest of her life there. She wanted to never leave that spot. He loosened his grip on her slightly and pulled his head back where he then said, “Let’s get out of here.” She nodded and he held out his hand for her. She slipped her fingers in between his and they matched perfectly.

29/366 A Call To Worship I wrote

Welcome alumni and guests to Pope John Paul II Catholic High School. Thank you for joining us today on our annual Grandparent’s Day Mass. We are here to acknowledge and celebrate our grandparents, who along with our parents, helped raise us into the wonderful human beings that we are today. Look around you, our grandparent’s generation is so wise and amazing. They have so much to offer and teach us. By listening to them we can learn from them about the past and what to expect from the future. They can teach us to appreciate the life our generation takes for granted.

In the song that you will hear in a few minutes the lyrics say, “And I just needed you to pick me up, like you did when we were younger, when the lightning and the thunder had me clinging to your heart. For someone to lift me up when I’m down, when I’m forgotten, you’ll forever be my father.” Grandparents are always there for us, even when we feel that we are all alone in the world. They will never leave our side and will support us through whatever we are going through in life. Their arms are always open wide for the times when we need a hug. Their ears are constantly ready to listen when we just want to talk. Their hearts forever flowing with the love they have for us and no matter what is going on in our lives, they will protect us.

Look to the people next to you. Look at the people who helped to raise you, and turn you into the person, you are today. We must not forget them and the affect they have had on our lives. We must cherish every moment we have with them- no matter how short or insignificant those moments may seem right now. We must make sure that our love is shown in every little action to them. Even if they are not here with us today, the next time you do see them, let them know. A simple, “I love you,” is all the more special and will make a difference.  So, show them today, how much you appreciate them, and all they have done for us. To all the grandparents, thank you for helping us learn to love and appreciate life, others, and God.

28/366 The Task

My thoughts are this: God has given us a task. He wants us to overcome all the war, poverty, and hate and push forward. He wants us to push past the misery and find the good. He wants us to find that little glimmer of light and take it. He wants us to share.  He wants us to love. I quote a song called “Nature Boy,” by Eden Ahbez, “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return.” I believe this whole heartedly. I think that we have been given a test and the only way we can pass is learning this lesson. We must love unconditionally.

27/366 Questioning

I read this somewhere, “God is at work in your life right now. He is directing your steps. What you thought was a setback is going to turn out to be a setup. God is getting you in position to take you to a new level of your destiny.” I honestly think God knew what He was creating. I mean have you ever heard that without the bad, how would we know what was good?  I’m pretty sure God knew what He was doing. I mean would we be saying that God made a mistake? I don’t understand the concept that God can make a mistake? I thought he was a perfect. I would think that everything would be part of His plan. I think personally that God has given us a choice to abide by that plan. You have a conscience provided by this God. He understands that you are going to make wrong choices.

26/366 Good vs. Bad?

I honestly believe that good and bad are meant to be on earth. You can’t say that God did not know that Adam and Eve would not choose to take a bite of the apple. God gave them the choice. They chose the wrong choice, and thus created the power of being human. We are eternally curious and we never stop wanting to know the next step or the next answer. God had placed “The Tree of Knowledge” in front of Adam and Eve and told them they could not have the fruit from it. Human beings, God’s creation, are naturally curious. If you were presented with all the knowledge in the world, would you take it? Or even just enough knowledge to make a difference, you would be curious too.We will keep searching for answers, like God expects of us.

25/366 Angels

I believe that angels are people who help us through things in our lives. Whether they help us through the bad times or are accompanying us through the good ones, I believe that any human is an angel in their own way. I think that without letting on God sends each of us in the right path towards others in order to be an angel for someone else. I think that an angel can be in the form of a brother, sister, mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, or a friend. An angel is someone who helps you to see the light. Angels are anyone who wants to be one, who wants to care for others and to share kindness with others. Maybe Angels are spiritual beings, but I think that they work through human beings to get their message across.

24/366 part two (a caricature)

And then she raised her hand, I was surprised and thought, ‘Well, maybe she was paying attention,’ until she said, “What time does this session end?” The instructor looked a little disgruntled at the fact that she interrupted his train of thought. I wouldn’t blame him. The instructor answers with, “in another hour,” and continued on his speech. She sighed in aggravation and boredom.

She roughly sat way back into her chair. She clicked her pen eight times stop for a second and tap it on the table in front of her and then click eight times again. Repeat for the next forty minutes. The cycle of gum chewing, pen clicking, and those snakes on her head engulfed my ever sense. I could smell the aerosol killing all the atmosphere. I could hear ever chomp and every click. I could almost taste the horridly sweet strawberry perfume she was wearing. I could see her disgusting chewing and every strand of hair. I watched her fidget in and out of her position. I honestly wanted nothing more but to take one hand and shove it into the ocean of curls and hope it threw the gum out her mouth.

The instructor ended the session and I stood quickly. I could not look at her face. I could not stand this girl, who had wasted my twenty-five dollar writing session. I could hear her expensive heals clicking behind me. She rushed past me and opened the door and said, “Here you go,” and she let me walk in before her. This just made me hate her more.
